Matica releases YMCKSc, the New Security Ribbon
- Enhanced security guarantee with new ribbon in Matica’s ‘chromXpert’ portfolio – the world’s most comprehensive consumables program.
- Available for the MC retransfer printer series.
- Delivering a level-1 security feature.
MUNICH, Germany, 24 July, 2019 – Matica Technologies AG introduces the new Security Ink Ribbon (SIR), a new 5-panel ribbon for Matica’s chromXpert, the most comprehensive consumables program in the industry.
Initially available for the new high-resolution ID card printer MC660, the new security ribbon now prints variable data. A special panel of reflective variable ink significantly enhances the card’s security, while also reducing the effort and time it usually takes to verify its authenticity. This is down to its self-sufficiency since external devices such as magnifying glasses or UV lamps are no longer required.
Using the new security ribbon prevents the security image from being scanned or copied. As such, it offers an advanced visual authentication system that corresponds to a level-1 security feature.
The five-panel YMCKSc ribbon offers flexibility and additional protection owing to the security image, which can be created from content variable data, (graphic and/or alphanumeric characters). The security image is retrieved from a database and integrated in the card during the personalization process.
The new ribbon can be used with lamination materials, (continuous films or patch) – and it can be achieved using clear or holographic for extra visual security elements (VSE).
“The chromXpert family is constantly growing and after much research and development, we are proud to launch the YMCKSc ribbon,“ said Ricard Ferrer, VP Global Marketing and Product Management, Matica Technologies. “Every investor in the new Security Ink Ribbon can enjoy extra security when it’s combined with the MC660 for sensitive ID markets and applications in sectors such as government and education.”
